Don’t Panic – 24” x 24” (61cm x 61cm) oil on gallery width panel (2025) – SOLD
“Don’t Panic” is my love note to Douglas Adam’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to The Galaxy, a trilogy in 4 parts, and an existential romp of a series. It all begins with a bulldozer knocking down Arthur Dent’s home to make way for a highway bypass, and spirals out from there. Points of interest include said bulldozer perched upon a towel , menacing an artist’s interpretation of the Pan Galactic Gargleblaster (described as having the effect of being hit on the head with a lemon peel wrapped around a gold brick. Garnished with an olive.) while honey roasted peanuts (eaten to bolster energy whilst interstellar traveling) are strewn across a tea tray, mirroring the stars spangled across the galaxy. “Don’t Panic” in large, friendly letters is comfortingly writ large on the guidebook, here represented on a t-shirt, folded and ready for whatever unfolds next.
